[edit] Background

Clover is a female slave bodyguard working for Eulogy Jones, the leader of the slavers in Paradise Falls.

[edit] Daily schedule

Before being bought by the PC, she follows Eulogy around anywhere he goes.

[edit] Interactions with the player character

If the Player's karma is evil enough, a dialogue option with Eulogy becomes available to inform him that the player is in the market for a bodyguard. Eulogy suggests Clover, insisting that she's "the craziest girl he's ever seen" and that she'll do anything for whoever holds her leash. He offers to sell her to the player for 1000 caps (or 500 caps with 50 in Barter skill).

Clover's Chinese Officer's Sword

[edit] Equipment

Clover's default equipment includes a Dirty Pre-war Spring Outfit, a Sawed-Off Shotgun with unlimited ammo and a Chinese Officer's Sword. Like with all other human NPCs, her default weapons and armor are not accessible to the player. Clover can carry a total of 194.5 pounds.

[edit] Notes

  • If fired, Clover returns to Eulogy's Pad in Paradise Falls (even if the player has killed Eulogy and abolished slavery by wiping out everyone in Paradise Falls). She can be re-hired at any time, regardless of Karma, without having to pay an additional fee.
  • Clover will leave after waiting for a very short time (24 hours) while all other followers in your party will stay where you left them for one week. If she has disappeared from the point where you left her without any notification, she has likely returned to Paradise Falls. She will be following Eulogy around, wearing any armor you've given her, as if she was still his bodyguard. She will speak to you like she has been waiting for you. This behavior is likely related to her idle dialogue ("I wonder what Eulogy is doing?").
  • If you decide to kill all the slavers in Paradise Falls while she is present and not yet in your party, she will attack you and you will have no future way of recruiting her.
  • She will turn against you if she catches you stealing too many times while in Paradise Falls.
  • Clover is set to Slaver class rather than Slave class. (The Slaver class tag skills are Barter, Melee and Small Guns.)
  • If the player steals the Vault 77 Jumpsuit while Clover is present she will immediately become hostile.
  • If you shoot her collar with the Mesmetron, it will trigger itself and she will die. The slaves collar instructions says "The Mezzer rays trigger the collar's self-destruct mechanism, so once the collar's on, don't shoot the slave with the Mesmetron, unless you want to pay me for a new collar.".
  • If you fire her in front of (friendly) Raiders, they will not attack her. Upon her leaving, if the Raiders start a conversation with her, she'll tell them off by saying "later" or "see ya" then leave.
  • It is possible that Clover is bi-sexual since she will be attracted to female player characters.
  • Even though the player must be evil to obtain Clover as a follower, she will remain loyal, though bored, regardless of subsequent changes to karma.

[edit] Quotes

  • "Yes, lover?"
  • "Bottlecap for your thoughts."
  • "Can I do something for you? Or...to you?"
  • "Can I have a better gun?"
  • "I wonder what Eulogy is doing."
  • "This place sucks."
  • "I'm bored."
  • "Aww. Aren't you cute?"
  • "Holy shit!" (If a grenade lands close to her)
  • "Good riddance."
  • "Glad that's over."
  • "Better her than me."
  • "You can take whatever you want lover" (when trading with her)
  • "Euology wants this one's head!" (when fighting)
  • "You big tease!" (When reminded to wait.)
  • She will yawn loudly on occasion.

[edit] Appearances

Clover only appears in Fallout 3.

[edit] Behind the scenes

  • Crimson and Clover is a song by Tommy James and the Shondells, and this may be a reference to the song.

[edit] Bugs

  • Many people experience a glitch in the game where Clover will never use any weapon but her sword regardless of modifications to her tactics. This can sometimes be remedied by telling her to switch to a melee weapon, then telling her to switch back to ranged weapons.
  • Clover can spawn shotguns such as the Combat Shotgun and the Terrible Shotgun. She will then fight with a shotgun in each hand. This may be a glitch; if the player attempts to trade the spawned Terrible Shotgun away from her, it will disappear. A spawned Combat Shotgun may be traded away. Clover will only wield both if she spawns them herself; she will not wield both if she is traded two shotguns by the player. (confirmed PS3)
  • She may occasionally just stop walking, but when you talk to her, she doesn't wait for you. A way to fix this is to fast-travel somewhere, and she'll move again.
  • At one point during the game after obtaining her as a follower, she may fall to the floor as if she had died. The option to search her is given, although she is still alive and her eyes are moving/blinking.
  • If Clover dies you will sometimes get a message saying she has returned to Paradise Falls. She hasn't though. (confirmed all platforms)
  • Clover will occasionally make references regarding Eulogy as if he was still alive when she is tagging along with you, even if Eulogy is dead and she witnessed his death or caused it.
  • Trading certain headgear to her will cause her to wear it,but when you remove it from her inventory it will become a "default" piece of gear. Other headgear may be given to her to replace it, and she will wear it as normal, but as soon as you remove said headgear from her she will revert back to the previous headgear. Has been confirmed with the Stormchaser Hat and Eyeglasses. It seems she will revert back after an hour or so in-game, or restarting the game.(confirmed Xbox 360)
  • Upon rare occasion Clover will have power armor vanish from her inventory while she is still wearing it. When retrieving the T-51b power armor. Clover was equipped with power armor and the PC could not retrieve the power armor Clover was wearing even after trading her the T-51b set. This has resulted in power armor becoming her default armor.(confirmed Xbox 360)
