Cloning in biotechnology refers to processes used to create copies of DNA fragments (molecular cloning), cells (cell cloning), or organisms.

At least two of the Vault-Tec vaults were equipped with cloning technology. In Vault City, cloning is used to create replacement limbs and other organs for transplants. In Vault 108, another cloning lab was included. A vault inhabitant known simply by his first name of Gary was cloned by the scientists repeatably, yet every clone became increasingly hostile to all other vault inhabitants.
