Chinese Soldiers are the backbone of the Chinese Army and your main enemies in the Operation: Anchorage add-on for Fallout 3.

[edit] Variants
[edit] Chinese Soldier
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
These are the regular ground troops you encounter throughout the simulation. They are usually armed with Chinese Assault Rifles, and wear Winterized Chinese Jumpsuits. Like every other character in the simulation they are impossible to loot as they disappear upon death.
The most common enemy inside the simulation, they might be weak alone but can pose a threat when in packs of 4-5. They have pretty decent aim but a relatively low Sneak skill (although it is higher than that of the American ground troops), making them easy to kill with the Sneak attack critical. They are inferior to their American counterparts, especially soldiers clad in Power Armor, but are superior in numbers.
Chinese soldiers are roughly on par with Raiders or (at higher levels) Talon Company Mercs in terms of durability and skill. They have roughly about half as much health as their American counterparts, but are on a similar level in terms of combat skill, but their pristine Chinese Assault Rifles give them much more hitting power.

[edit] Chinese Sniper
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Snipers are simply Chinese Soldiers who use Sniper Rifles. They do however differ in appearance as they wear the Chinese Stealth Armor.
In spite of being snipers, they sometimes act as if they have a Combat Shotgun. Inside the Listening Post, they will be waiting around corners and attempt to surprise you. Its an odd tactic on the Chinese part but the slow firing Sniper Rifle is much easier to survive than a fully repaired Combat Shotgun. This is most likely a bug and has not been confirmed.
All Chinese special weapons units have about twice as much health as standard Chinese soldiers, and at higher levels are about on par with Enclave Soldiers in terms of skill and durability.

[edit] Chinese Inferno Unit
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Inferno units use Flamers and wear Winterized Chinese Jumpsuits. They typically operate alone, with no teammates backing them up.
They often guard corners and there are quite a few of them inside the Trenches. The Inferno unit is a considerable threat to you and your strike team and can easily kill any unprepared player.

[edit] Chinese Launcher
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Chinese Launchers use Missile Launchers and wear Winterized Chinese Jumpsuits.
Be careful of these soldiers in the Trenches as they can deal massive damage with pin point aim. They are often on top of ledges, shooting missiles at you and your strike team from above. It is recommended to take them out as soon as possible. They are alarmingly effective against American T-51b Units and American Power Armored Soldiers.

[edit] Warning!
All weapons in Operation: Anchorage are indestructible, and that includes the weapons carried by all Chinese Soldiers. Targeting their weapons in V.A.T.S. is useless because it will actually protect its owner from damage, no matter how severe. This also applies in normal combat where a potentially well-placed shot can be ruined if an enemy's weapon blocks the shot (this includes weapons slung across their backs).
[edit] Notes
Pickpocketing Chinese soldiers gives a Karma loss, so is reverse-pickpocketing. This also goes for American soldiers and the mutinying Brotherhood Outcasts..
