Cherry was born on 2250[2].

[edit] Interactions with the player character

Main article: Cherry's Freedom
If the player talks to her about Dukov, the player can convince her to follow him/her to Rivet City. If the player does this successfully (fast travel is advised), he/she will be given good Karma. As soon as you arrive on the bridge to Rivet City, she thanks you and becomes a resident of the former aircraft carrier.

Wait too long though, 5 in-game days or more, and you'll be greeted to a quite irate Cherry. She says, "You're a God damn liar, you said you were going to Rivet City. We've been waiting out here for over five days, I'm going back."

This quest can also be done in return for her stealing Dukov's key as part of the quest You Gotta Shoot 'Em in the Head.

[edit] Inventory

Apparel Weapon Other item On death
Sexy Sleepwear
Wasteland Settler Outfit*
Switchblade

* Only after escorting her to Rivet City.

[edit] Notes

  • Although she denies being a whore she openly admits her trade of sexual favors for Dukov's protection.
  • By default, Cherry carries a knife - she will use it occasionally if an enemy gets too close to her (and she is still alive!). You will hear her say "That'll teach you to mess with me!".
  • If you have the Lady Killer Perk, you are guaranteed the Cherry's Freedom quest by using the extra dialog option available.
  • If you kill Dukov and/or Fantasia with Cherry present, she will flee and not talk to you. After a day or two she will then acknowledge Dukov's death and ask to join you (even if you already have 3 companions).
  • Cherry may buy armor and various weapons after arriving at Rivet City.
  • If you fire at her, she will state she is going back to Dukov. Later, with good timing, you can go to Dukov's main room, and see her begging for forgiveness.
  • After escorting Cherry to Rivet City and getting Dukov's key, you may find her at any location you fast travel in a Wasteland Settler Outfit. She has the standard 'stay here, follow me, never mind' dialogue, and acts as if you save her if you return her to Rivet City again.
  • After safely escorting her, if you have Clover in your party she may end up attacking and killing Cherry.
  • After escorting her to Rivet City, Cherry can be successfully mezzed and subsequently sold into slavery.

[edit] Bugs

  • She sometimes will aimlessly wander the wastes after being sent Rivet City(360&post Broken Steel)
  • If you load a game saved before you convinced her to leave, sometimes she will die for no reason. (360)
  • After leaving Cherry in Rivet city, you may find her corpse outside the Arlington Library.
  • After taking her to Rivet City if you return to Dukov's she will be there again in wastelander clothes.
  • Sometimes certain followers (Charon in the case of this editor) will randomly open fire and kill Cherry after fast traveling. (Please confirm, happened on PC for this editor)
  • sometimes cherry will perform usual dialog when escorted to rivet city
  • If you start the Cherry's Freedom quest and subsequently kill Dukov/Fantasia, steal from Dukov, or do anything else hostile while she's following you (including shooting her), Cherry will act as if she's hostile and use the 'fleeing' animations while moving. However she'll still be following you, and will react normally when talked to (except she won't wait anywhere, even though she says she will when you ask her to). You will also be unable fast travel or sleep/wait (due to 'enemies' (Cherry) in close proximity). If you then kill a genuine hostile creature she'll revert to normal and allow you to complete the quest, however this won't work if you've shot/injured her.

[edit] Appearances

Cherry only appears on Fallout 3.
