Carry Weight
From The Vault
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Carry Weight is a derived statistic in the SPECIAL system. It represents the maximum amount of equipment your character can carry, in pounds.
[edit] Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics
Your character will become slower as more weight is put on. When your character reaches the maximum weight, he or she becomes completely weighed down and cannot move until the weight is back under control.
Initial Level: Starting carry weight is equal to 25 + (ST x 25) lbs. Average characters (with 5 ST) will have 150 lbs.
- If you have the Small Frame trait, then carry weight is 25 + (ST x 15) lbs.
- The Pack Rat perk increases carry weight by 50.
- The Strong Back perk increases carry weight by 50 per rank.
[edit] Fallout 3
A player's carry weight is equal to 150 + (ST x 10). Characters with average Strength (5) will have a carry weight of 200. Movement speed is unaffected by your character's carry weight until the weight of items carried exceeds your total carry weight, at which point your character will be unable to run, jump, or fast travel.
- A player can add 50 lbs. to his or her carry weight by taking the Strong Back perk
- The maximum carry weight a player can have is 300 lbs. with 10 ST and Strong Back.
- A player's carry weight can be modified on the PC by the "player.modav carryweight #" cheat, which adds to the player's max carry weight. Any number can be entered, from 2 pounds to nine imperial tons.
