Wrecked Highwayman

The Chryslus Motors Highwayman is the only working vehicle usable by the PC in Fallout 2 and it was possible to use also it as a vehicle in the cancelled Fallout d20.

The Highwayman's got a full analog system, 800 + Horsepower, 0 to 60 in less than a second, a sizeable trunk and spacious interior, able to accomodate the entire party of the Chosen One, from Marcus to Skynet. That particular Highwayman could be found in the Den. Its missing part, the fuel cell controller, could be found in Gecko.

The battery can be charged with either Micro Fusion Cells or Small Energy Cells. A full pack of SEC (40) charges it up 20%, a full pack of MFC (50) charges it up 50%.

It can be upgraded throughout the game with several items:

[edit] Notes

  • Chryslus Motors is most likely a nod to the real world car company Chrysler. "Chrysalis" in Fallout 2 is a misspelling.
  • It is possible that the Highwayman is a reference to the 1958 Plymouth (a Chrysler product), as it bears an uncanny resemblance.

[edit] Trivia

  • There is a weapon in Fallout 3 known as Highwayman's Friend. This weapon is a reference to this vehicle as the weapon is a unique Tire Iron.
  • Contrary to popular belief, parking the Highwayman on New Reno's Virgin Street does not cause the game to glitch and leave the player without the car permanently. This is actually a part of the Recover your stolen car quest, in which the Highwayman is taken to the "Chop Shop" to be sold to Mr. Bishop.
