There will come a time when diplomacy and tact will prove to be useless and your hand must be raised instead. This challenge prepares you to face another human, look him in the eyes, and know that you may have to kill him.— Cameron to the Chosen One

Cameron is a tribesman of Arroyo in 2241.

Background[]

Cameron is a young man with bulging muscles and a very confident air about him.[1] He is a fellow tribesman of the Chosen One, and is an expert in unarmed combat, believing that fighting with weapons desensitizes a warrior to the consequence of their actions.

Notes[]

  • After leaving Arroyo, it is no longer possible to have him teach Unarmed combat skills.
  • Should Cameron be killed in a hand-to-hand duel, the Arroyo villagers may become enemies with the Chosen One, prematurely ending the game.[verification needed]
    • Should Cameron be knocked out and killed while unconscious, the Chosen One will lose Karma, yet the Arroyo villagers will not react.
  • If one interacts with Cameron, exits and then re-enters dialogue, they will not be able to convince him to not fight, as the option does not appear. One can still steal the key and avoid fighting him.
  • In combat and if dead, Cameron (and his remains) will be named "Warrior".

Appearances[]

Cameron appears only in Fallout 2.

Behind the scenes[]

Cameron is named after Cameron Rapmund, the first-place winner of a Fallout trivia contest. Prior to patch 1.02d, he was called "Dumar," the name of an NPC cut from Fallout.[Non-game 1] Another NPC, Lucas, also had his name changed in patch 1.02d.[Non-game 1]
