This item is useful only as [[Rock-It Launcher]] [[Rock-It Launcher ammunition|ammunition]]. Because it has weight, it is not as useful as other sources of ammunition which have zero weight. Butter knives can be found in containers and houses around the Wasteland. There are two types of butter knives: one long and thin, and another which has a wider cutting edge.

The butter knife is a miscellaneous item in Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.

Characteristics

A butter knife is a silverware item used for spreading various toppings (not only butter) and cutting tender foods. The Pip-Boy 3000 categorizes butter knives as miscellaneous junk.

There are two versions of the butter knife: one which is a light beige or pink and non-metallic, along with a second grey metal version.

In Fallout 3 both versions can be used as ammunition for the Rock-It Launcher, while in the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Honest Hearts one type can be used to make scrap metal.
