Behind the scenesEdit
This is a reference to the "One Man, and a Crate of Puppets" webcomic on Penny Arcade, where the vault experiment was to use one man and a box of puppets. The man, later known as the Puppet Man, who eventually surfaces from the Vault and is captured by Slavers and bound up with the Vault Boy Puppet. Convinced that the puppet is alive, he warns the Slavers that "he's a true killer." They apparently don't believe him as the next comic shows the Raider that caught them warning the others about the Puppet Man (the only time this nickname was used in the comic). Unfortunately for them it is too late as Puppet Man slaughters each one.
