Sentry bot toy
|The following is based on Fallout: New Vegas cut content and has not been confirmed by canon sources.|
The sentry bot toy is a fully articulated miniature replica of a sentry bot. When picked up it has no effect, simply occupying the player's inventory. However, when dropped the sentry bot toy will follow the player around. Though it is mobile, it lacks the ability to attack, and will flee if involved in combat. When not moving, the sentry bot toy will periodically change poses.
The sentry bot toy can be damaged and destroyed, most commonly if something attacks it. Once this happens it will no longer follow the player, though it can be picked up and dropped as normal. It is not possible to repair the sentry bot toy once it is broken.
The sentry bot toy was cut from the final version of Fallout: New Vegas and is only available through the use of console commands.
Behind the scenesEdit
- The sentry bot toy actually consists of four distinct components: two miscellaneous items and two placed creatures. The miscellaneous items consist of the standard "Sentry Bot Toy" misc item, along with a second "Broken Sentry Bot Toy" item given to the Courier if they pick up the sentry bot toy creature once it has been killed. The creatures consist of two instances of the same sentry bot toy creature, one alive and one killed.
- When dropping the item, it actually removes itself from the game and moves the appropriate creature to the Courier's location. Interacting with either creature simply moves it back to its original location in a hidden interior (the vendor chests cell) and gives the Courier a new copy of the appropriate miscellaneous item.
