Bo is Jo's potential replacement as the sheriff/mayor of Modoc in 2241.

Bo only appears if Jo dies during the attack on the Slag farm. If you get married to Miria (or Davin if he survived the fight), Bo will take Jo's place in the ceremony. However, Bo's only other purpose is to mumble about how all of the slags were slaughtered.
