Bethesda Underworks is a Metro station located in the Bethesda Ruins. The name of this station is unknown as station identification signs are badly worn and are no longer readable. Main entrance is via a metro station entrance located north-east of Bethesda Office East. Uncharacteristically, this station doesn't have an obelisk marking its location. Inside the station, the mezzanine and platform are relatively intact. Subway tunnels are destroyed and access is limited to the tunnel openings. The subway tracks ran north to south. Located off one of the destroyed subway tunnels, there is a service tunnel which leads to a sewer grating ladder. This sewer grating is located south of Bethesda Offices West.

A word of caution: This station is irradiated by containers of radioactive waste. The largest concentrations can be located on the platform and near the sewer grating ladder. So, before exploration, the Lone Wanderer should either take Rad-X or wear a Radiation Suit, or do both.

[edit] Inhabitants

The underworks are populated by the Ghouls. It is not surprising to see a Glowing One or a Ghoul Reaver here among the other types of Ghouls. The Lone Wanderer can avoid conflict by wearing the Ghoul Mask.

If you enter the Underworks, kill the ghouls, then leave and came back after 73 hours, the Ferals seem to respawn and start fighting the Raiders. Fast travelling back to the Ruins will drop you right in the middle of a raider-ghoul war almost every time (tested repeatedly on the 360)
