The battle rifle is a weapon added with the Fallout: New Vegas add-on Gun Runners' Arsenal.

Background[]

A gas-operated, semi-automatic, clip-fed rifle chambered for .308 rounds. In terms of operation, it is a relic of 20th century engineering, utilizing an "en bloc" clip system that allows ammunition to be inserted from above, clip included, into the fixed internal magazine. When all eight rounds are expended, the clip is ejected with a very distinct metallic "ping." Despite the archaic loading method, the combination of powerful rounds and semi-automatic fire makes it a viable choice for a post-nuclear combatant.[1]

Characteristics[]

Battle rifle expanded

Compared to This Machine, the battle rifle does less damage per shot, has a slower rate of fire and so a lower damage-per-second (DPS) value, does less critical hit damage, has a higher AP cost, has slightly higher spread, has significantly lower durability, has the same weight, and has a much lower caps value.

Durability[]

The battle rifle can fire approximately 1,495 standard rounds, the equivalent of 187 reloads, from full condition before breaking.
