The following is based on Van Buren design documents and is not canon. |
The Ballistic Orbital Missile Base 002 (or B.O.M.B.-002) is one of three space stations constructed by the U.S. Army before the Great War.
Background
B.O.M.B.-002 was created to hold nuclear missiles and launch them on targets. US Army personnel were stationed there, as well as robots.
The facility was hit by an asteroid making it fall back to Earth at an unknown time, possibly between ten to fifty years before 2253. Bits of the wreckage can be seen at the crash site in the Grand Canyon. The crash site is now entirely occupied by scavengers.
Layout
The base's layout is identical to the one of Ballistic Orbital Missile Base 001.
Related quests
Its computer core is the Prisoner's main objective, but he/she cannot get there due to the massive amount of radiation, and must find another way to get to it.
Appearances
B.O.M.B-002 has not appeared nor is it mentioned in any published game. It was to appear only in Van Buren, the canceled Fallout 3 by Black Isle Studios. It is not certain if it will appear in any future Fallout game.
