Paladin Bael is a Brotherhood of Steel Paladin in charge of guarding the entrance to the Citadel. He is equipped with Power Armor and a Minigun and is an Essential NPC. His dialog mostly consists of information about the Brotherhood and, before The Waters of Life quest, refusing you entry.

• You will be redirected to him at the entrance if you attempt to talk to the Knight stationed at the other side of the entrance with the sentry bot.
• After downloading Broken Steel, Paladin Bael will disappear once the Take It Back! quest is completed.
• Sometimes he will wear a BoS helmet for no reason.
