axe is a melee weapon which is added to with the Fallout 3 Point Lookout add-on.
It is used by the
swampfolk and tribals and can only be repaired with other axes.
Similar to the
tri-beam laser rifle in , the axe has an object effect which inflicts an extra 35 damage per hit when used by non-player characters against the player. This damage ignores Broken Steel Damage Resistance and is independent of the condition of the weapon.
The axe can successfully strike about 500 times from full
condition before breaking.
The Dismemberer Point Lookout (add-on) - Obtained from Plik after completing Plik's Safari. It is slightly stronger, and has a very high chance to turn enemies into paste and giblets, which also restores 5 AP.

Axes can be found on all
swampfolk, but especially trackers and bruisers. The Point Lookout tribals will also carry them. Many of the buildings in Point Lookout may also have axes in them.
