The auto-cannon is an autonomous defence turret equipped with twin minigun cannons and relatively heavily armored. They are usually part of an automated defense system.
Fallout 2
They can be found at such locations as Navarro, just like the gun turret and can also be found in such pre-War locations as the Sierra Army Depot.

In Fallout Tactics there are a very similar turrets though they only have one barrel and some of them shoot rockets. They are met all around on the later missions.
