Auto-Doc

From The Vault

An Auto-Doc is a machine used by some doctors to assist in patient recovery and for healing serious wounds. It is unknown if all Vaults are equipped with an Auto-Doc or not, since none of the Vaults in the Capital Wasteland have one (at least not in an accessible area).

• In Fallout 2, The Auto-Doc in the Vault City courtyard needs to be repaired to work to full efficiency. If this is not done, the unit will randomly malfunction and not heal at all.
• Additionally, attempting to use the unrepaired Auto-Doc to install sub-dermal combat implants results in an extremely gory death (although for some unfathomable reason, the Auto-Doc never malfunctions for people with mental retardation.
