Background
Armitage, 35, is Zimmer's imposing bodyguard. He has little to say and will defend Zimmer to the death. Of course, this is because Armitage is actually an android, of the same class as the replicant they are searching for. Armitage has the same schedule as Zimmer; he sleeps in the same room and eats the same food - not because he has to, but because he's been programmed to replicate human behavior as closely as possible.[1]
Seemingly human, Armitage is in fact one of Dr. Zimmer's many androids, created in 2242 at the Institute in the Commonwealth, a region to the north of the Capital Wasteland that was once the commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Daily schedule
Armitage will stay standing next to Zimmer until the quest The Replicated Man is completed.
Character interation
In the quest The Replicated Man, Armitage only has one or two lines of dialog and none of any consequence to the quest storyline as he is little more than Zimmer's bodyguard.

Notes
- Despite his status as an android, and his claim that he could "snap your neck like a chicken bone", he is of average human durability.
- If you kill him, you can find one of only four android components in the game on his body (of the other three, one is on Zimmer, one is given to you by Victoria Watts, and one is on Pinkerton).
- Killing Zimmer before he tries to leave with Harkness in The Replicated Man quest will result in Armitage living forever in the Rivet City market.
- He can be killed with no loss of Karma, and subsequently killing with Harkness' permission will not cause Rivet City security to turn hostile toward the player character.
Appearances
Armitage only appears in Fallout 3.
Behind the scenes
Armitage is a common cyberpunk name since William Gibson used it for the Wintermute-controlled mercenary in his 1984 novel Neuromancer.
