We'll crush the Commies soon, won't we, sir?

American grease-monkeys are U.S. Army mechanics found at the U.S. Army field headquarters in the Anchorage Reclamation simulation in the Fallout 3 add-on Operation: Anchorage.

In technical terms, grease-monkeys are slightly modified American soldiers, and are set to reuse their stats, script, factions, and effect list.

Background[]

Simulated Army mechanics, or grease monkeys, as they're commonly nicknamed, diligently maintain the American war machine and its many mechanized components: Army trucks, firearms, and especially the newly arrived winterized T-51b power armor units. The latter are the primary focus of these chipper workers, and they're pushing to have them ready for deployment as per General Chase's orders.[Non-game 1]

Notes[]

Female grease-monkeys will not say anything when spoken to. If subtitles are enabled, they will display generic dialogue, but no voice lines are heard. This indicates that the voice type DLC02FemaleGeneric1 did not have generic dialogue recorded.

Appearances[]

American grease-monkeys appear only in a simulation in the Fallout 3 add-on Operation: Anchorage.

  1. Fallout 3 Official Game Guide Game of the Year Edition p.60: "American Grease Monkey:
Relentlessly chipper and found beavering away at a variety of jobs, Grease Monkeys keep the wheels of the U.S. military war machine oiled and rolling. Most of a Grease Monkey's time (when not saluting superiors) is spent checking and dialing in schematics information for the Winterized Powered Armor units that have recently arrived at Field Headquarters"
