The Mauser M/96 9mm is a weapon in Fallout and Fallout 2.

BackgroundEdit

Produced in 1896 until 1938 by Mauser, it was sold to both civilians and military. As a military sidearm, the pistols saw service in various wars, as well as World War I and World War II, and it's now a relic of the Old World.

CharacteristicsEdit

It's a very rare small gun. So rare that only one is obtainable in Fallout, but they are slightly less rare in Fallout 2, one discoverable in a chest in the New Reno Arms and most being possessed by guards in a special encounter. It uses 9mm ball in Fallout and 9mm or 9mm ball in Fallout 2.

It has 2 less maximum damage than the Colt 6520, 3 less hexes worth of range, and 5 less rounds in its top-loading feeder. 9mm rounds are also rare and ineffective compared to 10mm rounds. It does have a +20% to-hit because it's "extremely accurate", but that doesn't really make up for its sub-par performance.
